Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the L7S, L11, L16, and L18S?

All four are IP68-waterproof high/low beam LED lights, but they differ in output and features. The L7S (15,000lm) is the most affordable entry point with a handlebar wheel controller. The L11 (15,000lm) adds three warning modes and intelligent thermal control. The L16 jumps to 19,000lm with eight brightness levels. The L18S tops the range at 21,000lm with dual color temperature, ideal for high-mileage touring and expedition use. For most ADV riders, the L11 hits the sweet spot of features and value.

How many lumens do I need for motorcycle auxiliary lights?

For trail and forest road riding at night, 15,000lm (L7S or L11 pair) is a significant upgrade over most stock headlights. If you regularly ride fast open roads or remote dirt tracks in full darkness, the 19,000 to 21,000lm of the L16 or L18S makes a meaningful difference to how far ahead you can see. More important than raw lumens is beam quality, LOBOO's high/low switching means you get a focused driving beam without blinding oncoming riders.

Will LOBOO auxiliary lights fit my BMW R1300GS?

Yes. LOBOO makes a dedicated light mount bracket for the BMW R1300GS that positions the lights at the factory-designed OEM location for a clean, integrated look. BMW GS riders can also add the LC081 CAN-BUS controller to control the L11 using the factory scroll wheel, no extra switches needed.

Can I install LOBOO auxiliary lights without drilling or rewiring?

Yes. All LOBOO auxiliary lights use a standard 22-28mm clamp mount that attaches directly to your crash bars or a dedicated light mount bracket, no drilling, no cutting. The wiring harness uses waterproof connectors and takes a standard 12V supply. Most riders complete the install in under an hour with basic hand tools.

Are LOBOO auxiliary lights waterproof enough for all-weather riding?

All LOBOO auxiliary light models are rated IP68, the highest standard waterproof rating for powersports lighting. The die-cast aluminum housings include breathable valves that allow internal moisture to escape while blocking external water ingress, preventing the condensation fogging that kills lesser lights over time. They've been tested on real ADV routes in rain, river crossings, and cold-weather riding.

Do LOBOO auxiliary lights have a flash/warning mode?

Yes, the L11, L16, and L18S all include three warning/flash modes activated by pressing the horn button. The L7S includes a single flash-to-pass mode. This horn-linked flash function is a safety feature rarely found on non-ADV-specific auxiliary lights and is particularly useful for signaling in emergency situations or tight trail passing scenarios.

What's the best way to mount auxiliary lights if my bike doesn't have crash bars?

If you don't have crash bars, LOBOO's dedicated light mount brackets provide a clean OEM-style mounting point for the R1300GS, R1250GS, KTM 790, and KTM 1290. Alternatively, installing LOBOO crash bars first gives you both engine protection and a solid, vibration-free platform for your auxiliary lights, the most popular combination for ADV builds.

Motorcycle Auxiliary Lights — LED Driving & Fog Lamps for ADV Riders

Your motorcycle's stock headlight is engineered to legal minimums, enough to ride at highway speeds on a well-lit road, not enough to see what's around the next bend on a dark mountain track at 80km/h. LOBOO motorcycle auxiliary lights close that gap with a purpose-built LED lighting system designed for BMW, KTM, and Honda adventure motorcycles, delivering 15,000 to 21,000 lumens of high/low beam output, IP68 waterproofing, intelligent thermal management, and horn-linked emergency flash, in a package that installs on your existing crash bars or a dedicated light mount bracket.

The LOBOO Auxiliary Light Range — Which Model Is Right for You

LOBOO makes four motorcycle LED auxiliary lights at different price and performance points. Understanding the differences helps you choose the right system, rather than the brightest or the cheapest one.

L7S — 15,000lm | Entry-Level Universal

The L7S is the most accessible entry point into serious auxiliary lighting. It delivers 15,000 lumens with a proper high/low beam cut-off, a clutch-lever wheel controller for 8-level brightness adjustment without taking your hand off the grip, and yellow rain/fog covers for low-visibility conditions. The universal 22-28mm bracket fits the widest range of crash bars and light mount positions. Best for riders who want proven, practical auxiliary lighting without a premium price.

L11 — 15,000lm | Quick-Release Anti-Theft

The L11 delivers the same 15,000 lumens as the L7S but adds a proprietary tool-free quick-release system: unlock the waterproof connector, slide the light pods off the mount, and stash them in your panniers in under five seconds. The L11 also supports BMW's CAN-BUS system via the optional LC081 module, allowing native Wonder Wheel control of brightness and strobe sync with your stock switch. Best for urban tourers and BMW GS owners who want factory-integrated control.

L16 — 19,000lm | Mid-Range Performance

The L16 steps up to 19,000 lumens and adds 8-level brightness and colour temperature adjustment, letting you dial in warm or cool light depending on whether you prefer better contrast in fog (warm) or maximum distance in clear conditions (cool). IP68 waterproofing and intelligent thermal control are standard. Best for riders who spend significant time in varied lighting conditions.

L18S — 21,000lm | Flagship

The L18S is LOBOO's brightest and most feature-complete auxiliary light system at 21,000 lumens (some configurations reach 23,000lm). It combines 8-level brightness and dual colour temperature adjustment, three warning light modes, IP68 waterproofing, and intelligent thermal management. The horn-link flash activates a high-intensity strobe when you honk. Best for serious night riders, enduro and trail riders who regularly push into the dark.

Why ADV Riders Need Dedicated Motorcycle Driving Lights

The problem with stock motorcycle headlights is not just brightness, it's beam pattern. Factory headlights throw a wide, flat beam designed for suburban streets, not the narrow focused distance beam an ADV rider needs when scanning 200 meters ahead on a gravel switchback. Motorcycle driving lights fill that gap with a concentrated forward throw that picks up deer, debris, and unpaved shoulders long before they enter your stock headlight's reach. On dark mountain passes and forest roads, the difference between stopping safely and meeting obstacles at speed often comes down to 30 extra meters of usable visibility. That's what a dedicated driving light delivers.

Driving Lights vs Fog Lamps — Which Beam Pattern Do You Need

Driving lights and motorcycle fog lamps solve different visibility problems. Driving lights use a spot beam (narrow, long-range) to extend your headlight's reach on open dark roads. Fog lamps use a flood beam (wide, short-range) with a sharp horizontal cut-off that lights the road surface without reflecting back off fog, rain, or dust. All LOBOO auxiliary lights combine both modes in a single housing: the high beam throws distance like a driving light, the low beam flares horizontally like a fog lamp, and the yellow covers (included with the L7S) shift colour temperature warmer for additional fog penetration. If you ride mixed conditions, you don't need to choose, you need a high/low switchable system.

Features Common to the Entire Range

  • High/Low Beam Integration — All LOBOO auxiliary lights switch between a wide-spread low beam with a legal cut-off line and a combined high/low beam for maximum distance. No blinding oncoming traffic on the low setting.
  • Horn-Link Warning Flash — Wire into your factory horn circuit to trigger an automatic high-intensity strobe when you honk. Works in all models.
  • IP68 Waterproofing — Rated for submersion, not just rain. River crossings, pressure washing, and sustained downpour are all within spec.
  • Intelligent Thermal Control — Automatically reduces output when internal temperatures approach the safety threshold, protecting LED lifespan without requiring manual intervention.
  • Universal Crash Bar Mounting — All models fit 22-28mm crash bars and tubes, compatible with any LOBOO crash bar or dedicated light mount bracket.

Fit Your Bike — Compatible Adventure Motorcycles

All LOBOO auxiliary lights are universally mountable on any bike with 22-28mm crash bars. For the adventure motorcycles below, LOBOO also makes dedicated light mount brackets that position the lights at the factory-designed OEM location for a clean, integrated look:
