Frequently Asked Questions
What is an inflatable crash bar bag, and how is it different from a regular crash bar bag?
A standard crash bar bag is a storage pouch that straps to your engine guard rails. LOBOO's inflatable crash bar bag adds a TPU inner bladder that, when inflated, becomes a shock-absorbing air cushion rated to over 300KG of impact force. In a tip-over, the bag hits the ground first — changing the angle of fall, cushioning the bike, and reducing damage to your engine cases and fairings. It's the only crash bar bag on the market that actively protects your motorcycle, not just carries your gear.
Are these crash bar bags waterproof? What's the IPX7 rating?
The BHGB05T Inflatable Model carries an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it's sealed against submersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This is achieved through a three-roll, two-buckle closure that blocks rainwater infiltration even under sustained downpour. The BHGB11T Standard Model is rated IPX6 — fully weatherproof for rain, splash, and trail spray. Both models use composite TPU high-quality waterproof fabric throughout.
Will these bags fit my crash bars? What diameter tube do they mount to?
LOBOO crash bar bags are designed for standard 25mm diameter crash bar tubing — the industry-standard size used on most ADV and dual-sport engine guards, including all LOBOO crash bar models. They mount using adjustable webbing with fixed lock buckles — no drilling, no clamps, no permanent modifications. If you're unsure whether your bars are 25mm, measure the outer diameter of your engine guard tubing before ordering.
Can I use these bags on crash bars from other brands, not just LOBOO?
Yes. The Wanderer Series Crash Bar Bags use universal webbing straps and are compatible with most 25mm engine guard tubing regardless of brand — LOBOO, aftermarket, or OEM crash bars. The adjustable webbing lock buckle accommodates minor variation in bar diameter and spacing. Check your crash bar outer diameter before ordering to confirm fitment.
How do I inflate the inflatable model? Do I need a special pump?
The BHGB05T features a standard air valve — you can inflate it with any bicycle pump, hand pump, or the LOBOO CP06 Portable Air Compressor that fits in a jacket pocket. Inflate until the bag feels firm to the touch; no specific PSI gauge needed. The TPU bladder holds air reliably and can be deflated and re-inflated at each ride.
How much can these bags carry? Are they sold as a pair?
The Wanderer Series bags hold 6 liters per bag. Both the Inflatable (BHGB05T) and Standard (BHGB11T) models are sold as a pair (two pieces) — one for each side of your crash bars. Typical contents include a tire repair kit, rain layer, tools, chain lube, snacks, and small electronics. The MOLLE exterior system lets you attach additional pouches if you need to expand capacity on the fly.
Are LOBOO crash bar bags X-Team tested? What does that mean?
Every LOBOO product goes through long-term real-world validation by the X-Team — LOBOO's in-house team of dedicated adventure riders who test gear across extreme terrain and conditions before it reaches customers. The Wanderer Series bags have been ridden across more than 200,000 km of verified testing. X-Team validation means the product has proven performance in the conditions you'll actually face, not just a lab stress test.
Motorcycle Crash Bar Bags — Inflatable Protection Meets ADV Storage
Most motorcycle crash bar bags give you storage. LOBOO's give you storage and a passive impact buffer — the world's first inflatable crash bar bag system, proven across 200,000 km of real-world X-Team testing. Designed for ADV and dual-sport riders who refuse to choose between carrying gear and protecting their bike, the Wanderer Series Crash Bar Bags are built to take the hit so your engine cases and fairings don't have to.
Why Inflatable? What Makes LOBOO Crash Bar Bags Different
Standard crash bar bags mount to your bars and hold your gear. That's it. LOBOO's inflatable model (BHGB05T) goes further: inflate the TPU inner bladder and the bag transforms into an air-cushion buffer rated to absorb over 300KG of impact force. In a tip-over, the bag contacts the ground first — changing the fall angle, reducing frame stress, and making the bike easier to lift. It's protection you were going to lose anyway every time you park on a slope. Now it actually does something.
- IPX7 Waterproof — Three-roll, two-buckle closure; gear stays bone dry at full submersion depth
- 300KG Passive Impact Rating — Inflatable TPU bladder absorbs and disperses impact before it reaches your engine or frame
- Universal 25mm Fit — Mounts to standard crash bar tubing with webbing lock buckles; no drilling, no modifications
- Anti-Theft Lock System — Integrated anti-theft buckle for walk-away peace of mind at fuel stops
- MOLLE Expansion System — Attach additional pouches and accessories directly to the bag exterior
- High-Brightness Reflective Strips — 360° low-light visibility for dawn, dusk, and tunnel riding
Inflatable vs. Standard: Which Crash Bar Bag Is Right for You?
Not sure which model fits your riding style? The BHGB05T (Inflatable) prioritizes protection — it's the right choice for off-road, technical trails, and riders who drop their bikes in remote terrain. The BHGB11T (Standard Rigid) features a PP board internal frame for maximum shape retention and larger packing capacity (IPX6 rated) — ideal for long-distance touring where organized storage matters more than crash buffering. Both mount identically to your existing LOBOO crash bars or any standard 25mm engine guard.
Complete Your ADV Protection Build
Crash bar bags work hardest when paired with the right foundation. Build out your full protection setup with LOBOO's stainless steel crash bars and engine guards, expand your cargo capacity with the Alps Inflatable Panniers, and round out your kit with LED auxiliary lights for night-stage visibility. Every LOBOO product is validated by the X-Team before it ships — because gear that fails in the field is worse than no gear at all.
