LOBOO X-TEAM Testing Project

Beyond the Blueprint. Into the Wild.

X-Team

Before any part leaves our workshop, it's put to the ultimate test. It’s a process we call real-world validation, led by our dedicated X-Team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I keep in a motorcycle tool bag?

The essentials are: a tire plug kit and CO₂ inflators, a compact multi-tool, zip ties and duct tape, a tire pressure gauge, spare fuses, and a small first aid kit. For longer ADV tours, add chain lube, a spare clutch lever, and any bike-specific tools your model requires. Keeping these items in a dedicated waterproof tool bag — separate from your main luggage in your side bags or tail bag — means you can get to them in seconds without unpacking everything else.

Is a motorcycle tool bag the same as a handlebar bag or tank bag?

Not exactly. Tank bags and handlebar bags are designed for items you access frequently while riding — your phone, wallet, snacks, and documents. A motorcycle tool bag is typically smaller, more rugged, and mounted in a secondary position (on a crash bar, rack rail, or subframe) specifically to house repair tools and emergency gear. LOBOO's tool bags are designed for the latter — purpose-built repair kit storage, not daily-access convenience. For quick-access storage, check out our tank bags.

Where do motorcycle tool bags mount on the bike?

Most compact tool bags mount via straps to crash bars, pannier rack rails, subframe loops, or under the seat. LOBOO tool bags are designed with flexible mounting in mind — they work alongside crash bar bags, strap to pannier rack tubes, or tuck under a tail bag. The goal is to keep your repair kit accessible without eating into your main storage capacity.

Are LOBOO tool bags waterproof?

Yes. LOBOO tool bags use composite TPU waterproof fabric — the same material spec used across the LOBOO soft luggage range. This means seams are sealed against water ingress and the exterior sheds rain without soaking through. If you're crossing rivers or riding in sustained heavy rain, keep sensitive electronics or documents in a dry bag inside, but your tools and repair kit will stay dry in normal riding conditions.

What's the difference between LOBOO's bag categories?

LOBOO's soft luggage range covers five distinct categories: inflatable crash bar bags (unique impact-protection front storage), side bags (pannier-style main storage), tail bags (rear overflow and duffle storage), tank bags (quick-access cockpit storage), and Other Bags — compact specialty pouches and tool bags that fill the gaps the larger bags can't. If you're building a complete setup, start with side bags and a tail bag, then add a tool bag for your repair kit.

Motorcycle Tool Bags & Riding Pouches — The Missing Pieces

Every ADV build has gaps that side bags, tail bags, and tank bags can't fill. This is where LOBOO's specialized motorcycle tool bags and compact riding pouches come in — small-format, purpose-built storage for the things you need within reach on every ride: repair tools, tire plugs, first aid essentials, documents, and roadside must-haves. Built from composite TPU waterproof fabric to the same durability standard as the rest of the LOBOO lineup, these bags punch well above their price point.

Why Every Rider Needs a Dedicated Tool Bag

Hard cases and tail bags are great for gear — but when you need a tire plug at the side of a dirt road in the rain, you don't want to unpack a 45L pannier to find it. A compact, dedicated motorcycle tool bag keeps your repair kit, multi-tool, and emergency items separate, organized, and instantly accessible. LOBOO tool bags use composite TPU fabric that resists water, abrasion, and UV without adding bulk — so they mount cleanly alongside your crash bar bags or strap to your pannier racks without interfering with your main luggage.

  • Composite TPU waterproof fabric — keeps contents dry in rain and water crossings
  • Compact form factor — mounts in spaces other bags can't reach
  • Abrasion-resistant construction — survives the same X-TEAM testing as all LOBOO gear
  • Universal mounting — attaches to crash bars, racks, or subframe points

Build Your Complete LOBOO Luggage System

Tool bags and small pouches work best as part of a layered luggage strategy. Pair them with motorcycle side bags for main storage, a tail bag for overflow and rain gear, and a tank bag for quick-access essentials up front. Add a tool bag for your repair kit and you have a complete, organized system for any distance. If you're building around hard cases, our aluminum pannier systems include integrated liner bags for similar separation — but for riders on soft luggage setups, a standalone tool bag is an essential addition.
