Frequently Asked Questions
Can the C36 actually start my motorcycle using a power bank?
Yes — in Input Mode, the C36 accepts power from any PD-compatible power bank via its USB-C port and uses it to recharge your motorcycle battery. It's not a conventional jump starter (it doesn't deliver a high instantaneous current spike directly to the starter motor), but it charges the battery to sufficient voltage to start the engine normally. This process takes 10–30 minutes depending on how deeply discharged the battery is, making it a practical emergency solution when you have a PD power bank but no jump leads or conventional charger. The C36 displays real-time battery voltage so you can monitor progress.
What is the difference between the CB10 and CB20?
Both are smart power distribution hubs with three managed output circuits and the same six-layer protection system. The CB20 delivers up to 480W total output and is designed for bikes with a larger accessory load — multiple auxiliary lights, heated gear, GPS, and phone charging simultaneously. The CB10 delivers up to 360W and suits builds with a moderate accessory load. Both include intelligent battery voltage monitoring that cuts power to accessories before the battery drops to a level that prevents engine starting. Choose the CB20 if you run four or more significant power-drawing accessories; the CB10 handles most standard ADV builds.
Does the C20Pro work with lithium (LiFePO4) batteries?
Yes — the C20Pro is designed for both 12V lead-acid (including maintenance-free and AGM) and 12V lithium iron phosphate batteries, with automatic chemistry detection. It does not require manual mode switching between battery types. The optimised capacity range is 4–35Ah, which covers virtually all motorcycle batteries. Note that the C20Pro is not suitable for lithium cobalt or NMC lithium batteries found in some performance bikes — only LiFePO4 chemistry is supported.
Can I leave the C40T or C60 connected permanently for trickle maintenance?
Yes — both the C40T and C60 are float-and-maintain chargers, meaning they automatically switch to a low-current maintenance mode once the battery is fully charged and hold it at optimal voltage indefinitely without overcharging. This makes them suitable for permanent connection during winter storage or extended periods of non-use. The C60's desulphation stage periodically applies a conditioning pulse to prevent sulphate crystal formation in lead-acid batteries during long storage — a meaningful benefit for bikes stored over winter.
Do I need the CSAE-19 cable, or can I use any SAE connector?
LOBOO power products use the standard SAE connector format, which is compatible with most aftermarket SAE cables and charger leads. The CSAE-19 is LOBOO's own cable, recommended for system integration because it uses 18AWG pure copper core (higher current capacity than many budget cables), includes a built-in fuse for overload protection, and has IPX5 waterproof connector covers that protect the battery lead when not connected. If you already have a quality SAE cable from another brand, it will connect to LOBOO chargers without issue — the CSAE-19 is the preferred option for permanent installation on the bike.
How does the CB20/CB10 protect my battery from being drained by accessories?
The CB20/CB10 continuously monitors your battery voltage. When it detects that voltage has dropped to the low-voltage protection threshold — below the level needed for a reliable engine start — it automatically cuts power to all three accessory circuits. This prevents auxiliary lights, heated grips, or a phone charger left on overnight from draining the battery to a point where you can't start the bike. When you start the engine and the charging system restores voltage above the threshold, the outputs reactivate automatically.
Can I control my LOBOO auxiliary lights with the BMW factory scroll wheel?
Yes — the LC081 CAN-Bus controller is a separate accessory that integrates LOBOO auxiliary lights with BMW's original scroll wheel (Wonder Wheel) on GS models, allowing brightness adjustment and strobe activation through the factory switch without an additional handlebar controller. The LC081 is not a power supply product but is listed alongside the power range as it is part of the electrical integration system for BMW riders running the L11 light system.
Motorcycle Battery Chargers & Power Management — Buying Guide
A dead battery is the most common mechanical cause of an unplanned trip ending — and the most preventable. Whether you're maintaining a battery in winter storage, running a fully accessorised ADV bike with auxiliary lights, phone holders, and GPS devices drawing from a stock charging system, or dealing with a flat battery 50 miles from the nearest town, the right power management setup is the difference between a minor inconvenience and a stranded bike. LOBOO's Power Supply & Battery range covers every scenario: trailside emergency charging, permanent on-bike power distribution, home and garage maintenance, and on-the-road USB power supply — all compatible with both 12V lead-acid and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries.
Choosing the Right Product for Your Situation
C20Pro — USB-Powered Portable Charger | Best for: Trail kit & emergency backup
The C20Pro is the only professional-grade 6-stage motorcycle battery charger that runs entirely from a USB-A power source — no wall outlet required. Plug it into a power bank, laptop port, or phone charger brick, and it diagnoses, activates, charges, and maintains your 12V lead-acid or LiFePO4 battery automatically. At 18W output it's not a fast charger, but the 6-stage intelligence means it handles degraded and sulphated batteries that a simple trickle charger can't recover. For any rider who camps, stays in remote accommodation, or has experienced a dead battery on trip, the C20Pro earns its place in your tool kit as the smallest, most versatile charging safety net available.
C36 — Bidirectional 100W PD Charger | Best for: On-bike power hub + emergency rescue
The C36 is LOBOO's most innovative power product. It operates in two completely different modes. In Output Mode, it draws from your motorcycle battery and outputs up to 130W total across PD USB-C ports — enough to charge a laptop, drone battery, and phone simultaneously while you ride, with a real-time voltage display so you can monitor your battery state at a glance. In Input Mode, it reverses: plug any PD power bank into the C36's USB-C input, and it recharges your motorcycle battery with enough current to start the engine. IP67 waterproofing, mirror mount or adhesive mount options, and compatibility with all 12V–15V motorcycles make it the most capable all-in-one power device in the range. For touring riders who carry electronic devices and want rescue capability without a separate jump pack, the C36 replaces three separate products.
C40T & C60 — Smart Home / Garage Chargers | Best for: Off-season maintenance
The C40T (6V/12V, 4A) and C60 (12V, 6A/3A) are dedicated smart chargers for home and garage use. Both support the full range of modern battery chemistries — LiFePO4, AGM, standard lead-acid, and gel batteries. The C60 adds active desulphation to recover batteries that have been left discharged for extended periods. Both include SAE quick-connect leads for permanent battery connection, making connection and disconnection a one-second operation. Best for: riders who store their bike seasonally, run multiple bikes, or want a reliable bench charger that handles lithium and lead-acid without manual mode selection.
CB20 / CB10 — Smart Power Distribution Hub | Best for: Heavily modified ADV builds
The CB20 (480W, 3-way output) and CB10 (360W, 3-way output) solve the wiring problem that comes with a fully modified ADV bike. Rather than running individual power taps off the battery for each accessory — auxiliary lights, heated grips, GPS, phone charger — the CB20/CB10 provides three managed output circuits with intelligent voltage monitoring, automatic low-voltage cutoff to protect the battery, and six layers of circuit protection (short circuit, overvoltage, overcurrent, undervoltage, reverse polarity, overload). IP65 rated, plug-and-use without configuration, with three LED indicators showing each circuit's live status. The result is a clean, safe, centralised power distribution system that replaces a tangle of individually fused accessory leads.
CSAE-19 — SAE Quick-Connect Cable | Best for: System integration
The CSAE-19 is the connecting tissue between all the above products. An 18AWG pure copper SAE quick-connect cable with IPX5 waterproofing, built-in fuse protection, and Y-terminal battery connection. Available in 20" and 47" lengths for different routing requirements. If you're running any LOBOO charger or power product, the CSAE-19 provides the permanent battery connection that makes daily connection and disconnection a one-second operation rather than a fiddly job with alligator clips.
Battery Chemistry Compatibility
All LOBOO power products support both 12V lead-acid (including maintenance-free, AGM, and EFB variants) and 12V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries. The C40T also supports 6V batteries for older bikes. This covers every motorcycle battery type currently in production — no manual chemistry selection required on most products.
