Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between the L7S, L11, L16, and L18S?
All four are IP68-waterproof high/low beam LED lights, but they differ in output and features. The L7S (15,000lm) is the most affordable entry point with a handlebar wheel controller. The L11 (15,000lm) adds three warning modes and intelligent thermal control. The L16 jumps to 19,000lm with eight brightness levels. The L18S tops the range at 21,000lm with dual color temperature — ideal for high-mileage touring and expedition use. For most ADV riders, the L11 hits the sweet spot of features and value.
How many lumens do I need for motorcycle auxiliary lights?
For trail and forest road riding at night, 15,000lm (L7S or L11 pair) is a significant upgrade over most stock headlights. If you regularly ride fast open roads or remote dirt tracks in full darkness, the 19,000–21,000lm of the L16 or L18S makes a meaningful difference to how far ahead you can see. More important than raw lumens is beam quality — LOBOO's high/low switching means you get a focused driving beam without blinding oncoming riders.
Will LOBOO auxiliary lights fit my BMW R1300GS?
Yes. LOBOO makes a dedicated light mount bracket for the BMW R1300GS that positions the lights at the factory-designed OEM location for a clean, integrated look. BMW GS riders can also add the LC081 CAN-BUS controller to control the L11 using the factory scroll wheel — no extra switches needed.
Can I install LOBOO auxiliary lights without drilling or rewiring?
Yes. All LOBOO auxiliary lights use a standard 22–28mm clamp mount that attaches directly to your crash bars or a dedicated light mount bracket — no drilling, no cutting. The wiring harness uses waterproof connectors and takes a standard 12V supply. Most riders complete the install in under an hour with basic hand tools.
Are LOBOO auxiliary lights waterproof enough for all-weather riding?
All LOBOO auxiliary light models are rated IP68 — the highest standard waterproof rating for powersports lighting. The die-cast aluminum housings include breathable valves that allow internal moisture to escape while blocking external water ingress, preventing the condensation fogging that kills lesser lights over time. They've been tested on real ADV routes in rain, river crossings, and cold-weather riding.
Do LOBOO auxiliary lights have a flash/warning mode?
Yes — the L11, L16, and L18S all include three warning/flash modes activated by pressing the horn button. The L7S includes a single flash-to-pass mode. This horn-linked flash function is a safety feature rarely found on non-ADV-specific auxiliary lights and is particularly useful for signaling in emergency situations or tight trail passing scenarios.
What's the best way to mount auxiliary lights if my bike doesn't have crash bars?
If you don't have crash bars, LOBOO's dedicated light mount brackets provide a clean OEM-style mounting point for the R1300GS, R1250GS, KTM 790, and KTM 1290. Alternatively, installing LOBOO crash bars first gives you both engine protection and a solid, vibration-free platform for your auxiliary lights — the most popular combination for ADV builds.
