Frequently Asked Questions
Does the brake pedal extension replace the original pedal, or attach to it?
It attaches to the existing pedal — no replacement required. The LOBOO extension mounts over the tip of your stock rear brake pedal using the original fastener positions. Your OEM pedal stays in place underneath, which means the installation is fully reversible and no brake system adjustment is needed afterward. Removing the extension returns your pedal to exactly its original state.
Will a wider brake pedal affect my braking sensitivity or feel?
A wider platform doesn't change the mechanical ratio or travel of the brake pedal — it changes only the surface area available for your foot. Most riders find that brake feel actually improves after fitting an extension, because consistent foot placement on a larger platform means more consistent activation force. The anti-slip surface also reduces the micro-movements that happen when your boot slides on a narrow stock tip during vibration or rough terrain, which translates to more predictable brake response.
Is this compatible with both the standard NX400 and the NX500?
Yes — the LOBOO rear brake pedal extension fits the Honda CB500X (2019+), NX400 (2024+), and NX500 (2024+). All three models share the same rear brake pedal tip geometry. If you're unsure about your specific model year, check the individual product listing for the confirmed year range, or contact our team with your VIN and we can verify fitment.
Does it work with off-road or adventure boots?
Yes — the extension is specifically designed to address the fitment gap between the narrow stock pedal and the wider soles of off-road and adventure boots. The anti-slip serrated surface is designed to grip boot soles effectively, including the stiffer, less flexible soles common on ADV and enduro footwear. Riders using standard road boots will also benefit from the larger platform, though the improvement is most noticeable with heavier off-road footwear.
How long does installation take, and what tools do I need?
Installation takes approximately 10–15 minutes using a basic Allen key set. The extension fastens directly to the existing brake pedal tip using the hardware included in the kit — no drilling, cutting, or modification to the brake system is required. No brake fluid work or pedal height adjustment is needed after fitting.
What other upgrades pair well with a brake pedal extension for off-road use?
For the most effective off-road ergonomics setup, pair the brake pedal extension with wide foot pegs — together these give your feet a larger, more controlled contact platform across all three points (left peg, right peg, and brake pedal). Add handlebar risers for correct bar height when standing, and a kickstand extension for stable parking on soft ground. For protection on technical terrain, crash bars and an engine guard round out the practical ADV build for Honda CB500X and NX series riders.
Is there a risk of the extension interfering with the bike's brake light switch?
No — the LOBOO extension attaches to the pedal tip (the foot contact surface at the end of the pedal arm) and does not affect the brake light switch, which actuates from the pedal's pivot point or a separate switch near the master cylinder. The extension only enlarges the surface area where your foot makes contact; it has no effect on the pedal's travel, switching point, or brake light activation.
