Will a kickstand extension fit over my stock side stand without drilling?
Yes — all LOBOO kickstand extensions use a lossless bolt-over design. They attach directly to your existing side stand foot using the original bolt positions or a dedicated clamp, with no drilling, welding, or permanent modification to your bike's structure. The OEM stand foot remains in place underneath. Installation takes under 15 minutes with a basic socket set and all hardware is included.
How much does a kickstand extension increase the contact area?
The contact area increase varies by model, but across the LOBOO range the pad typically doubles or more the OEM footprint. For context, the stock side stand foot on most ADV bikes contacts the ground across roughly 8–12cm². A loaded 250kg adventure bike on that surface area creates enough localised pressure to sink into anything softer than hard concrete. The LOBOO extension spreads that load across a much larger pad, dropping the pressure per square centimetre below the threshold where most real-world surfaces yield. Does a kickstand extension change the lean angle of the bike when parked?
A small amount — adding thickness to the stand foot effectively raises the stand contact point slightly, which can make the bike sit marginally more upright when parked. For most ADV riders this is actually a benefit: heavily loaded bikes often lean further than comfortable when parked on a flat surface, and a slightly more upright stance makes the bike easier to mount, dismount, and right if it does tip. Is the R1300GS extension compatible with the Adventure model as well?

Can I use a kickstand extension alongside a centre stand?
Yes — side stand extensions and centre stands are completely independent, and using one does not affect the other. Many LOBOO riders run a kickstand extension for day-to-day parking on variable surfaces and use the centre stand (if equipped) for maintenance or loading panniers. The extension only modifies the side stand foot and has no effect on centre stand geometry, clearance, or function.
What surfaces specifically benefit most from a kickstand extension?
The four surfaces where a factory side stand most commonly fails are: soft dirt or mud (campsite and trailhead parking), sand (beach or desert riding), wet grass (overnight stops in fields), and sun-softened asphalt (summer riding in hot climates, where old tarmac becomes pliable under heat and concentrated load).
